As the weeks go by and the time at school becomes more routine, it has been more and more clear why we are here. God has put these kids in our care for a short time, he has been showing us how to love as he loves.
I now realize how lucky I am to come from a Christian home and how privileged I have been to have two parents who invest in me. Most of the kids we work with have been adopted by grandparents or have drug addicted parents who don’t know how to care for them. God has definitely put a soft spot in my heart for these kids that I am with 4 days every week. I have been working with 1-3 graders and it is definitely draining and challenging at times but I have grown to care so much for them and also just show them love.
1 Corinthians 13:13
And now these three things remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
We are called to love the least of these and no matter what feelings we may have against anyone we have to show them the Father’s love. We are all called to something and the calling that I believe we all share is to love.
Thank you for keeping me in your prayers and I also ask that you continue them because life can be very hard at times and challenging, but I am staying planted in Jesus to get through it.
